Here is her response: https://www.tiktok.com/@morethanelizabeth/video/7372931535764507950

It is 10 minutes long.

Plot twist! Not really. Got 2 min in and I’ve decided it’s not worth my time being gaslighted by two people who may have made this whole thing up.

529

u/r0ckashocka 27d ago

I made it about the same. Pitiful. I'll never understand airing all that trash on TikTok

351

u/ada43952 27d ago

Same! In the video, "I will not post bad things about my ex that our kids may see one day."
30 seconds later...
"Andrew is so abusive..."
CLICK!

231

u/Prineak 27d ago

This is what my ex wife did. She told everyone I was abusive.

What she didn’t tell anyone is I was defending myself from her. I had to get cameras in my own house to protect myself from my ex wife starting arguments and saying the most heinous stuff you’d ever hear and make me physically defend myself from her.

73

u/ISwearItsNotAPP 27d ago

I'm currently going through a custody battle with my soon-to-be ex wife who financially and emotionally abused me as well as slandered my character for over 2 years, walked out and moved half a state away from myself and our 2 children for a year with every other weekend unofficial (not written) visitation. At the beginning of March, she decided not to bring the kids back to the meeting point, and I'm currently spending time with the children for the first time in 2 months.

I went from being the primary caretaker for an entire year to not having any time with my kids for 2 months. It's been a lot to deal with

I’ll never understand lying and making tik tok videos for fake sympathy either. Weird time. I remember seeing a nurse get fired for filming themselves crying after a patient supposedly died. The thirst for attention is insane.

30

u/bonenecklace 27d ago

It’s for money. If you have over 10k followers on tiktok you can apply for a creator fund & you get paid for views, videos like that get 100s of thousands if not millions of views & it equates to thousands of dollars monthly. People are desperate for money so they degrade themselves because “hey, at least I’m getting paid.”

16

u/doesanyofthismatter 27d ago

Oh for sure. Also, simps will absolutely send her money because they think she is telling the truth and they can help her by giving her gifts of money. It’s sad. I have an acquaintance that takes advantage of lonely men by doing and saying shit that always makes her a victim. Men eat it up and she doesn’t work. She makes like 50k by donations from dudes and some women. She’s a horrible person.

Read the custody agreement in the background of the ex husbands video. Judges don’t just award full and complete custody to dad with zero visitations from mom unless she completes a psychological program. That’s extremely rare, and there had to be some serious evidence to support it. Not just accusations.

This is the reason why nobody should take threads from r/amitheasshole or r/relationshipadvice seriously. The odds that the person is presenting the full story in a somewhat unbiased way is less than a coin flip.

The fact that he's a Scientologist does make me raise my eyebrows. I have a feeling neither of them is really “innocent” here.

Sad for the kids.

(also pro tip watch long vids on 1.5 or 2x speed!)

239

u/BlackDraper 27d ago

Agree. When you google her, those shady thereal[exscientologist].com websites that try to discredit “suppressive persons” pop up.

Both crazy

140

u/38fourtynine 27d ago

So OP is just helping scientologists spread their ability to discredit suppressive people?

I question the dudes parental custody, he must have used the Scientology lawyers to get that done.

41

u/mr_potatoface 27d ago

They used to have an entire team of people dedicated to spreading misinformation and defending the church on reddit, and probably still do. Probably even bigger than ever. I don't remember the leader's name, I think it was Sandra or something? I remember whenever a scientology post would pop up everyone would spam "hi <name>!!" because everyone knew they were going to be coming. It seems their campaign worked because nobody gives a fuck and leaves them free to spread their bullshit these days.

I'm too lazy. Does she provide some kind of evidence that he's a scientologist? If not, I certainly wouldn't believe her based on the evidence he provided.

35

u/yikesafm8 27d ago

She said the links in his page direct you there but looks like they’re gone. He did mention his LIB in another video recently so I think he must’ve taken them down.

Also his page looks also unhinged… his whole page is dedicated against her. If he has full time custody why put so much energy to take down your ex? The whole thing is unhinged behavior.

These two live in Florida, where everything is backwards, unfortunately…the church of Scientology has outsize influence in areas of that state. For a single, newly divorced dad trying to be a wholesome influence on his kids and heal from his own trauma, it would be all too easy to get sucked into that world. I wouldn’t judge too hard too fast…

That said, if he raises those kids in that church, he’s a POS too.

95

u/messysagittarius 27d ago

It is written into their religious doctrine to "ruin" their perceived enemies. Ruin their reputations, ruin them financially. Their harassment campaign against Paulette Cooper (who wrote a book about them) was a case in point, not to mention the countless campaigns against people who leave.

52

u/robotmonkey2099 27d ago

Yah so I don’t believe any of this shit. Fuck those people

44

u/messysagittarius 27d ago

Yes. As much as I side eye people who film themselves crying, if the guy is a Scientologist, I have no doubt how he got custody, or any of the rest. It's all in the playbook.

She posted a cease and desist letter that’s been notarized and it had check marked that he’s done just that among other awful things. Physical and verbal abuse, not allowing her to leave her home, threatening her, stalking her, etc. I did not expect to come into this feeling sorry for her but this actually flips the script super hard. She also mentioned becoming a mom at 16…so what the fuck is going on here?

When my favorite dog died a few years ago, I spent an entire week ugly guttural crying in the shower until it ran cold over and over again. I couldn’t even touch my phone let alone think about wanting to even take pictures or record a video. Even happy crying, like why ruin the moment and distract from the happiness? Shits so weird to me.

69

u/MacaroniPoodle 27d ago

I lost my pup last year. He was my heart. I still cry all the time, and it's been 10 months. I don't think I'll ever be the same. My heart is so broken.

25

u/Sungirl1112 27d ago

Let my good puppy go two weeks ago. We had her for 13 years and osteosarcoma took her away very quickly. I still get so sad but today I went to an adoption event and met a few pups in need of love. I’m not ready yet (I started crying while I was there!), but I will be soon. And I’ll do that heartbreak all over again because the 13 years of memories was 100% worth it.

Lots of love your way.

→ More replies (2)

24

u/ComfyInDots 27d ago

I lost my girl 18 months ago and I was a broken soul for well over the first year. It's a grief that's all encompassing, so much of your time, thoughts and schedule existed around the little Fuzzpot of Love and then suddenly they're gone and you have to some how carve out a new existence without them. These days I have happy memories to keep me comfort but there are certainly occasional days where I'll ugly cry for my baby. Don't rush your grief, feel what you need to feel, and reach out to a support network if you think you need a kind shoulder.

I miss you Penny! Goodest gorl in the worl. 🌎🌈

92

u/Shan_Evolved 27d ago

Broke my heart reading your comments. You really loved your pup. I have a 3 year gsd and he's my shadow. My heart is hurting thinking of when he will inevitably cross that bridge

63

u/TheSupr1 27d ago

I know what you mean bro/sis and you have my support on the healing process.

I had a red Doberman for 16 years, long life for that breed of dog. I didn't think I would ever allow myself to get attached to another dog after I had to have her put to sleep because of cancer. That dog was my family.

My daughter and her boyfriend now husband, thankfully got a dog of their own (rat terrier mix, I think also known as a Feist) some years later. Somehow, by accident (long story) the dog attached herself to me. I didn't really want anything to do with the dog: I wasn't mean to it or anything like that, I just didn't want to get attached again. However, The dog picked me, and I'm thankful every day that she is in my life. My wife calls her my emotional support dog. Hell, she wont send me to do errands without her.

TL/DR: It took years before I let myself get attached to another dog, but I'm glad I allowed myself to love another, and I believe she saved my life, and if I outlive her, I'll be there until the end of hers.

18

u/Mecha_Cthulhu 27d ago

My wife brought home a feist/terrier that I was totally against but that dog is my baby girl now. I’m the old guy driving a truck with a tiny dog in his lap and it’s a vibe I can get down with.

I also love making up different breeds when people ask what she is. Best one yet is Venezuelan Red Belly Squirrel Hound, and Portuguese Spotted Greyhound coming in second.

Ehh, I feel like there's a big difference between 'Ranting at a camera while crying', and 'I'm so sad, look at me cry'.

Him crying wasn't the point of the video, rather it was a side effect of being extremely emotional about what he was saying. (It's been a while, so I might be wrong though)

The video in the OOP is primarily to show people that she's crying. That's the theme, just look how sad I am but still doing the thing. Super sad, many tears!

What is up with narcissistic people faking cancer?

1.2k

u/Infinitystar2 27d ago

It makes them the center of attention.

229

u/Opening_Effective845 27d ago

That makes sense,I thought it had something to do with people not being able to question it for fear of becoming a social pariah.

174

u/tiffytaffylaffydaffy 27d ago edited 27d ago

I'm dealing with this now. A woman I have the misfortune of knowing faked cancer amongst other illnesses. You can look like the bad guy if you question a narcissist/cluster b liar because there are well meaning dummies out there. She is about 30 and has had cancer, hip fracture which she admits she was up dancing, alleged neck surgery and she was up walking around fine, alleged hysterectomy and walking around fine, breaks hands every few weeks but never needs a cast, night blindness but drove across several states at night, etc etc. Finally, I called her out and all of a sudden she has esophageal cancer that of course didn't need chemo.

It's absurd, but well meaning people fall for this stuff. Questioning someone's illness is very much like walking a tight rope.

It's the attention, money, and manipulation. It is truly disgusting.

60

u/Chris-CFK 27d ago

there used to be a subreddit years ago, possibly got band, where they would follow all these people that use social media to showcase thier fake illinesses, some even got so deep into it that they would actually harm themselves.

That too. My mom would injure herself to frame my father as an abuser. He's not. He can get a little scary when he's upset, but I think that's more a function of his size than his temper, and he's never struck me or my siblings, or really even given me much cause to think he might. My mother, on the other hand? She's on her sixth husband, last I heard. You know what they say about smelling shit everywhere?

But it's effective. People don't want to believe someone would do that to themselves, because that's crazy, and this person seems so normal...

Just got done with chemo two months ago. Nothing serious, testicular cancer, right orchiectomy, three rounds of BEP. I get why people want to fake it. My gofundme did well enough where I didn’t have to work, I got a lot of attention once word got out, people went out of their way for me. Are all of these things nice? Absolutely, I ask for none of it, maybe outside the gofundme, but there was almost always praise and encouragement and acknowledgement. If you’re a narcissist or pathological liar and see someone else receiving that, I can see why they’d lie to seek out that same attention.

u/TraditionalSpirit636 27d ago

And its technically curable enough to not be called out for living but still scary enough to get the attention.

11

u/Jean-LucBacardi 27d ago

Nah it was purely to scam people out of money. I highly recommend visiting the ex husband's TikTok (I don't even have TikTok and I looked through it). It's all about showing how evil she is.

Malingering or factitious disorder. It's been a thing long before social media, social media make it easier to do on a grand scale.

16

u/MoreNMoreLikelyTrans 27d ago

Narcissism instills in its victims a sense of utter worthlessness so deep and foreboding that they, Narcissists, cope with those feelings by completely denying those emotions and doing everything they can to run in the opposite direction. To convince themselves, and necessarily everyone else, that they are infact, super important and good and great.

Them seeing people with cancer receive unconditional human support, praise, and love very likely leads them to conclude that if they have cancer, they'll receive the kind of support they pathologically chase.

As a note, there is not enough information to confirm this woman is a narcissist.

I don’t blame him one bit for setting the record straight

I wish I had been as brave as he was to make this post when I was dealing with this kind of behavior from my ex-husband. Kudos to him.

66

u/HuckleberryTiny5 27d ago

It is really hard because they always have so many enablers, and when you call out their lies you will be attacked and told that YOU are the one with no empathy and YOU are the selfish one. It is sickening.

There seems to be a social norm that you should not call out liers, and just look the other way, you should always think the best of people, even when they are full of shit.

It is not easy, and I say this as a person who tends to call out bs every time I see it. Most of the time it is pointless and you will be the one who is made to be the bad person because YoU ShoUlD Be ThE BiggER PeRsOn. At worst your own family will turn against you and defend the narcissist because... I really do not understand this one but it happened to me.

They very well could have been in harms way. we’ve all seen too many delusional parent stories, and what ends up happening; their safety has to be number one priority.

57

u/blahblahsnickers 27d ago

Pause the video and see what she has to do to get those kids back… part of it is a psychiatric evaluation and treatment…

65

u/AUserNeedsAName 27d ago

That's not even the requirement to get any sort of custody. That's to even be allowed to request a hearing. Plus employment, a stable living situation, and what looks like completion of a course.

The court is done with her shit until then.

My buddy was in a similar situation to this. Was married to a girl whom looked like a supermodel on the surface everything was perfect however a year into the marriage the same shit starting happening

She said she was working but turns out fake a degree in marketing from a perstage school he started seeing pill bottles and empty alcohol bottles

She was taking his money and saying it was for the kids. She would post on face book mom of the year type shit in the meantime she was high and drunk getting into accidents with the kids in the car

Truly a devil in a tight dress

I used to be envious of him because she actually seemed perfect of it turns out all to be a lie

Tldr, she is a scam artist. She has been scamming people for years, moving around the country and changing names. The million dollar check fraud from what I can tell is just a total of how much she has frauded people out of over the years (including a half a million she owes to her ex for a house).

Edit - Leaving this for transparency but a lot is coming out about the guy now and everything is not what it seems. Take that as you will.

41

I had a friend whose dad was a Scientologist. Bankrupted their family had to be court ordered to stop giving all of their money to this cult.

This is typical Scientology scorched earth shit, deemed OK if someone is “fair game” (possibly one of the most horrifying pairs of words to anyone with knowledge of Scientologists).

Actually anyone can make their own birthday cake but crying about it because you’re “only doing it to make your kids happy” is comically backwards behavior. 🤣 Like, what a fucking weird way to think about it.

Actually, when I was a single mom I absolutely had to get a cake for my birthday because my kids wanted to celebrate. They loved me. I don’t even like cake but they wanted to celebrate because they loved me and felt a cake would make me happy. I bought a cake from Walmart and lit the candles and let them sing. I wasn’t really sad about it. I just felt it was easier to buy a cake for them to celebrate my birthday than to continue to argue that I don’t need a cake on my birthday to be happy.

Unfortunately a lot of people weren't able to clock that. Her vid had over 4 million likes. Sometimes I think TikTokers are too gullible and enablers.

Edit to add: You guys are right. Most people in general are gullible online. Not just tiktokers.

82

u/Val_Hallen 27d ago

Don't just attribute that to TikTok.

Do you have any idea how many people on Reddit have knowingly faked things like having cancer for clout?

My favorite is the kid that did it. So many people trampled each other to give that kid Reddit awards. So much fucking money was spent. And then the kid admitted he lied about it. Just came out and said it. And people were pissed. They actually started saying the kid should be legally financially responsible because they gave Reddit a shitload of money because a stranger online said they had cancer. I fucking loved that kid. He showed how Reddit is just as gullible as the rest of the internet and is steeped in Psychological Egoism. That kid is a fucking legend and I hope he's doing well.

20

u/Dry_Discount4187 27d ago edited 27d ago

Classic example from around 2006 or 2007. Some fantasist on hmfckickback.co.uk (fan site for Scottish Football team Hearts) made up a bunch of stories about his life, including being a heavy weight boxer and being married to a Bollywood actress. He then made another account to claim that this person had died from cancer. This resulted in a fan of a rival team doing a charity sky dive in the fictional person's memory.

Discussion about it here, here, and here. It made the local newspapers but the articles seem to have dropped off the internet now.

65

u/wf3h3 27d ago

I wouldn't even consider her a single mother. Yeah she's had kids, yeah she's (presumably) single (God willing, she remains that way), but to me the term "single mother" implies that she is caring for those kids. If she had full custody and the dad was mostly absent and didn't take care of them and was $20k+ behind in child support, then I wouldn't refer to him as a "single father"; he'd be a deadbeat.

But seriously though, every time I see a video of people intentionally turning the camera on themselves to show their most “vulnerable” moments I usually assume the opposite is true. Because no sane person deals with their problems like that.

That website has a link to the Scientology Handbook's definition of "The Third Party Law" to support its position.

Also note that a lot of this has apparently taken place in Clearwater Florida, which is known for being wholly overrun by scientologists.

Finally note that scientologists are well known for using scorched earth tactics against anyone perceived to be an enemy and have no qualms about inventing evidence against those enemies.

Yeah, when you look into the claims a bit more, some of the allegations that he claims were "proven" are actually merely his unsubstantiated claims in motions filed by him/his prior attorney. Of course, those documents are "conveniently" unavailable for review. I'd order them, but that's far too much effort. The lack of them being posted when other documents are demonstrates the lack of credibility in those claims quite clearly.

Looking at the felony charges, she wasn't convicted and was entered into a diversion program, meaning the prosecutor 1) felt the charges weren't as likely to result in a conviction and 2) that the overall circumstances of the charges/Defendant were such that the interests of justice were served without a conviction. Speaking as a former prosecutor, check fraud is VERY easy to convict on, and so the fact that a diversion program was approved indicates that the DA felt there were some significant mitigating circumstances.

Basically, I am deeply skeptical of both of these people, but anyone who spends the type of time to make that website is a certified psycho in my mind.

When I first saw this original video I was already turned off and I thought this is very weird video and point to make... Even if we ignore crying to camera - no, you don't need to bake your own cake on your birthday! Especially if it would be a struggle, it is perfectly fine to don't throw any party at all. When I was a kid we was poor for some time, so there was no birthday parties - I remember doing my mother self made birthday cards instead, what's wrong with that? Can't kids sing "happy birthday" without a cake? Like really - cake is a symbol which can be replaced with anything, you can just sing happy birthday together or buy one candle and put it on top of whatever food to make it look "birthdaye" looking and that would be perfectly fine especially for kids who often don't give a shot about expensive decorations etc.

Another thing - you can buy ready cake and not cook at all, in USA I've seen that they have also box cakes which takes almost no time to prepare... So like why bitch about sth which will take up to 15 mins of your time so it is not really a struggle? You can also make a cake WITH your kids and from some easy busy recipy, do really I don't get the problem... It's not nursing school which might be actually hard to do with kids, it is cake which can be very simple, bought ready or skipped at all
