So... will she be arrested?
I mean - this is quite a clear confession.

No. Laws are for people like you or me.

u/100percentish Apr 09 '24

I thought that was the Bible rules....you know like "thou shalt not bang your trainer at the gym behind your husband's back" or "don't be a f'ing lying dumbass"...

I'm not really an expert on Jesus stuff....

164

u/Sad-Second-2961 Apr 09 '24

Nah nah, what she's doing is very much in the Bible. It's just that she's an uneducated Pharisee (if that's actually possible), and what she does is very much what Jesus says NOT to do.

-Source: The Holy Bible

68

u/Previous-Cook Apr 09 '24

Tbf, the Pharisees were highly educated experts in and defenders of rabbinic law. So like, what does that tell you about MTG when even a Pharisee has more class?

Yup.

Let a normal person say this and it gets on Twitter or any other platform and the black vans would be outside your house in a heartbeat.

Like we haven't heard shit about the inside people in Congress that were giving tours out to the Jan 6ers before the invasion, to plan where they were going to go....but here we are.

Laws are for people

This right here. Maggot Traitor Gangrene is many things, but people is not one of them.

177

u/CMMiller89 Apr 09 '24

I don’t think we should be resorting to the same Nazi rhetoric of dehumanizing people.

I think it also does a disservice to the danger these very real humans are.

She’s not inhuman.  She’s a person with motives and power and we should work to understand those motives to head of damage cones and understand her power so we can learn to dismantle it.

37

u/Synectics Apr 10 '24

She thinks people that I consider family should be executed.

You can understand why I have no sympathy for her -- regardless if she truly believes, or is just a mouthpiece claiming my friends and family should be killed.

I have no problem demonizing these fascists when they are advocating for taking away people's rights, marginalizing minorities, endorsing fascism, racism, sexism, religious extremism, trying to make entire blocks of history they don't like disappear and ending democracy. People didn't take them seriously in 2016, which got us to where we are now. If they get back into full power, anyone they consider not to be one of them, they want to destroy.

I will not humanize those who want to literally destroy vast portions of citizens, laws and our future. They are pushing to make child marriage legal. Guns for everyone, regardless of mental capacity or prior record. Taking away women's rights to choose their own reproductive and medical rights. To fight monsters you cannot be afraid to identify them. The high road still has to get muddy at times and we can't be scared of getting dirty and fighting back. MTG is an inhuman fascist who just admitted her desire to overthrow our government, no matter how that would have entailed. Too bad the laws aren't treating her like it.

You can't humanize those who oppose your very existence and standard of living.

She's fully human. Don't dehumanize opponents, down that path lies cleansing.

She's a fucking piece of shit. She's a piece of shit who deserves prison, ostracization, and to never eat restaurant food without spit in it ever again.

We have to reckon with garbage like this being part of humanity, not disqualify them from it.

57

u/hereforthefeast Apr 09 '24

Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them. In this formulation, I do not imply, for instance, that we should always suppress the utterance of intolerant philosophies; as long as we can counter them by rational argument and keep them in check by public opinion, suppression would certainly be most unwise. But we should claim the right to suppress them if necessary even by force; for it may easily turn out that they are not prepared to meet us on the level of rational argument, but begin by denouncing all argument; they may forbid their followers to listen to rational argument, because it is deceptive, and teach them to answer arguments by the use of their fists or pistols. We should therefore claim, in the name of tolerance, the right not to tolerate the intolerant. We should claim that any movement preaching intolerance places itself outside the law and we should consider incitement to intolerance and persecution as criminal, in the same way as we should consider incitement to murder, or to kidnapping, or to the revival of the slave trade, as criminal.

50

u/limeybastard Apr 09 '24

When we lock them up for treason, when we kick them out of society, it's as giant piece of shit people, not as subhumans.

Not dehumanizing people, even the worst of them who don't extend that courtesy to you, is a safeguard against going all Reign of Terror. Once you start exterminating the subhumans, the definition of subhuman expands until one day it includes you. Usually it's fascist regimes that eat themselves like this but left authoritarianism isn't immune.

You don't have to tolerate their shit for a second, you just can't start considering them roaches.

→ More replies (5)

She said back in 2022 they would have been armed and won had she planned it.

I will remind everyone she requested a preemptive pardon for her actions around January 6th as did other lawmakers.

So the language is changing a bit link below to a CNN clip with her older speaking engagement.

https://youtu.be/KfiRiyWTX2w?si=SW01WzIWkfRkJiux

373

u/eihslia Apr 09 '24

“I don’t fucking care that they have weapons,” Trump said. “They’re not here to hurt me.”

The Secret Service confiscated hundreds of knives prior to the riots, picked up by the magnetometers that protesters had to pass through at the Ellipse, where former President Donald Trump held his rally.

It was remarkable the magnetometers were there at all. Prior to the rally, Trump demanded that they be removed, concerned that they would limit the crowd size. Cindy Hutchinson, a Trump staffer at the time, said that Trump told his staff to get rid of the magnetometers so his armed supporters could get onto the grounds. His staff didn’t listen to him and the magnetometers remained.

Pretty sickening. It’s reminiscent of the box cutters used on the 9/11 flights. Trump should be in jail, not running for office.

109

u/confusedandworried76 Apr 09 '24

Lots of people were arrested going to Jan 6 for firearm possession. And not your run on the mill conceal carry handgun they just didn't know wasn't legal in DC, they were bringing in rifles, multiple.

Then don't forget the unattended backpack they never told us was a bomb or not. And the fact they never cleared the air on the one makes me think it wasn't just someone set down a backpack and forgot about it.

Dozens of police officers were hospitalized. Never forget these facts when conservatives try to tell you people weren't going there to be violent.

46

u/TheArmoredKitten Apr 10 '24

You should also never forget their panicked pissbaby reaction to one of them actually getting shot. They just sorta stood in a circle and watched as she bled out into a trump flag. These people are all bluff and bluster until the consequences of their actions come knocking.

It's wild to consider that the only thing that prevented a successful coup and the end of the 'American Experiment' were a few metal detectors.

If they'd been able to bring the guns that they did bring into that shitshow - I really believe that it would have been the end of American Democracy.

31

u/TheArmoredKitten Apr 10 '24

The way they folded like origami paper the moment the Secret Service actually started taking shots though. The mob was just the distraction from the internal coup that flopped like a fish because everybody with an IQ above room temperature knew it was a losing game. Many of the red states will just kinda shrivel up and die without the constant influx of federal dollars, which would vanish in the event of a civil war.

12

u/Beard_o_Bees Apr 10 '24

You're mostly right, I think... but still, there was a more 'hardcore' element in certain groups that did much of the worst damage.

Those fuckers would have started shooting without a doubt in my mind, and considering how close the mob got to actual legislators without guns...

Romney was tipped off about three days prior that people online were planning something on Jan 6th due to threats made to his own safety (and also that of Mitch McConnell) and he reached out to McConnell to warn him out of genuine concern that people were threatening to go to McConnell's home, and he never heard back...so...perhaps McConnell.

Side note, wtf are all these weird ass outlets like RSBN, OANN, etc. like how do they pop up so quickly and become viable with such a saturated media landscape? Is it because they solely cater to the MAGA crowd? Like there's no growth model for them because their viewer-base is a very specific niche so what's the long term plan for these outlets???

literally zero.

434

u/fancy-kitten Apr 09 '24

Less than zero, in fact. Because this type of rhetoric is exactly what makes her so popular on the right. They want someone who will outright say that they intend to seize power through violence.

149

u/AttitudeAndEffort2 Apr 09 '24

My biggest problem with Bidens administration (well, one of) is his lack of seriousness in addressing the existential threat of the far right in America.

The secret service wasnt purged of traitors that tried to assassinate Mike Pence, laws are not being applied due to political popularity etc.

America (including many Republicans) would give broad support to just applying the law and arresting any far right person that broke the law like this. Including politicians and including Trump.

The laissez faire attitude and the fact that he's relying on new York state to press charges is absolutely ludicrous.

I understand wanting hands off of the DOJ, but appoint someone that will apply the law equally to everyone then be hands off.

There is no excuse. You run the executive and don't need Congressional help and are just abandoning the American people.

It's most visible in the DOJ, but the FEC is the same thing (along with super weak SEC, FTC, EPA, USDA, everything. He could make American lives better right now but won't for politics)

134

u/YabbaDabbaFck Apr 09 '24

Yep. Dems are still like “can’t we all just get along” while the right is like “the only thing that would make me happy is killing you and shitting on your corpse.”

50

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '24

you are right it's the old "take the high road and ignore them" rhetoric that they have spewed that led us to this.

We're witnessing fascism take over just slightly slower than it would have in 2020. There seem to be people thinking that the right will eventually come around. No. No they won't. Fascists never do. Ever. In the history of humankind, fascists can only be dealt with one way, and elaborating further violates the Reedit TOS.

Historically, this was the case prior to the Civil War too. The south consistently screamed and got its way via the judiciary and legislative loopholes for decades. It was to the point that when the south seceded, they literally figured their best bet was that the north would just let them have their way and secede. They were so used to this idea of entitlement that they were shocked that the Union actually went 'okay bet'.

14

u/alastrionacatskill Apr 09 '24

Even then, the Union was kinda just. Cool with it. Until Fort Sumter. The Confederacy was seizing federal mailhouses and whatnot, and the Union just sent strongly worded letters. It was only until they opened fire that the Union went "okay bet".

She is a Representative of the House. 2 year term in a specific rural section of Georgia.

If she was a Senator, she’s be serving a 6 year term from a statewide election. Georgia would likely be voting her out.

It’s why loonies in the House chamber are so damn safe. The loonier the better for her. It’s a shitty situation. We can only outvote her and marginalize her by winning back the House in 2024.

86

u/Shotgun5250 Apr 09 '24

Difficult to do when this state is gerrymandered into oblivion. The majority of Georgians loathe this woman and consider her a massive embarrassment. Her base in her gerrymandered little area is the type to put foil on the windows and speak in tongues cause there was an earthquake and eclipse in the same year.

because someone somewhere convinced people that taking the high road really sticks it to the bad guy.

53

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '24

I love(d) Michelle Obama, and still think she's an amazing person, but that "When they go low..." rhetoric will forever taint my opinion of her to a certain degree. I know she MEANT well, and I agree with the general sentiment, but it really should have been more "You should fight fire with fire..." because now we have a bunch of spineless Democrats that won't put the MTG cow to the slaughterhouse (figuratively...maybe literally) when it's so clearly needed.

24

u/TheLandFanIn814 Apr 09 '24

I think most just look at idiots like MTG and realize it's not even worth their time/energy to engage. Just ignore them. Because no matter what, it is a losing battle and you're never going to get these people to shut up. If anything attacking them back just brings you down to their level.

Just look at MTG at the State of the Union. She wore her stupid red hat and tried to cause a scene. Biden saw her, laughed, ignored her and moved on because it wasn't worth his time. She came away looking like an idiot.

14

u/Bahggs Apr 09 '24

This is wrong. You're enabling and normalizing this kind of behavior.

6

u/thedeadlysun Apr 09 '24

She’s a representative not a senator, so she represents a specific region of her state, which is loony town. Also, I believe she could be censured by her cohorts but that will never happen because they all believe the same things she does, she just says it out loud unlike them.

Let’s be clear what she’s stating here.

She wishes they had captured and executed multiple lawmakers like VP Pence and Nancy Pelosi.

She wishes they had destroyed the Capitol.

She wishes they had murdered hundreds of law enforcement and others trying to stand against them.

And that would have been only the beginning of the carnage for them to actually succeed.

How in the name of holy fuck did we get to a place where so many people are fine with throwing democracy out the window in favor of fear, repression, and hatred?

104

u/BeHereNow91 Apr 09 '24

This is also admitting that January 6th was not just an unorganized riot that went out of control (a common argument from republicans and sympathizers), but was actually an organized insurrection with the goal of overthrowing the election.

[April 2022 - MTG on testifying under oath in a court of law]
Attorney: If someone broke the law, in an effort to interfere with the counting of the electoral votes that person would be an enemy of the Constitution. Am I right about that?
MTG: Breaking the law is unlawful. There's been over 700 people arrested for breaking the law on January 6th.
Attorney: Right, and those people were trying to interfere with the lawful process of counting the votes for the Electoral College. Right?
MTG: I..... I... Yes, I would assume. Yes. They did. They stopped the electoral count. Yes.
Attorney: Right, and so those people would be enemies of the Constitution, you would agree with that, right?
MTG: I don't know if it... I don't know... I don't know if it defines it that way.
Attorney: Well... Having taken the oath that we saw on the screen. If you were aware that someone was going to unlawfully interfere with the Constitutional process of counting the Electoral Votes, you'd be obliged by your oath to try have them arrested and stop it, right?
MTG: I had no knowledge of any attempt and so that's a question that I can't answer.

So... now that she has knowledge that it was attempted, but she also fully supports it at present. Is this not a violation of her Oath of Office? Is this not giving aid and comfort to the enemies of the United States?

She asked for a pardon. Only guilty people ask for pardons.

17

u/Tazling Apr 09 '24

An elected representative says "I sure wish we had successfully overthrown the lawful government" and doesn't get tried for treason. Only in America.

10

u/GeorgeNewmanTownTalk Apr 10 '24

"We" huh? That's definitely an admission.

It's absolutely batshit crazy to me that no one in our government who assisted the coup attempt on Jan. 6th has been held to account. It shows exactly how the law works in this shithole country.

8

u/NumerousTaste Apr 09 '24

It's like the magas see how far they can go to shock people and then try to go further! Back in the day she would have been arrested and either sentenced to death or prison for the rest of her life for being s traitor.

9

u/meatypetey91 Apr 09 '24

Yep. We know, Marjorie.

You were actively trying to overturn a free and fair election by force.

You should be in jail.

30

u/Tarbal81 Apr 09 '24

So...it was an insurrection and you all knew and believed it to be an insurrection and not one of them is barred from office?

But I thought it was antifa? 🤔

7

u/TheHandWavyPhysicist Apr 10 '24

Friendly reminder, the U.S already had a fascist problem during Hitler's reign, with dozens of U.S politicans essentially working for Nazi Germany. U.S democracy survived. Now let's show marg the clown the power of American democracy, again.

Yeah she's a fucking traitor to her country, duh

7

u/SiriusGD Apr 09 '24

Does "we" imply her involvement in it?

6

u/Ok-Cap-204 Apr 09 '24

Why isn’t she being investigated by the FBI? She is an admitted terrorist and traitor. She promotes violence against the government, which, ironically, she is a member of. She regularly voices her support for the insurrectionists and is even highly suspected by some to be the “pipe bomber”.

5

u/TrafficOn405 Apr 09 '24

When Trump talks about poisoning the nation, or not sending us their best … she’s the one

5

u/SidKafizz Apr 10 '24

She's certainly qualified for prison. She's 100% a traitor.

6

u/Derfargin Apr 10 '24

Again, who was it? You guys but it was a peaceful tour? Antifa? The FBI? Peolsi’s people? Oh wait now it’s you guys again? Every one of these Republican pricks can fuck all the way off.

6

u/TimmyTwoTowels Apr 10 '24

Successful in....an insurrection? The person who swore to protect her people and the constitution (that clearly states insurrection is a no-no).? Super weird that her party keeps doing that. Almost like they shouldn't be eligible to be on ballots.

6

u/DeadRabbit8813 Apr 10 '24

So she admits that it wasn’t a “peaceful demonstration” or a “sight seeing tour” it was indeed an insurrection. They gathered at the Capitol for the purpose of overturning the election. Good to know.

6

u/Decent_Recover_9934 Apr 10 '24

Are there seriously no consequences anymore?

6

u/Burrahobbit69 Apr 10 '24

What I truly don’t understand after all this time is this. We all know for a fact that if it were Democrats that had tried to overthrow an election, if they had stormed the Capitol, if they had tried to submit false electors, if there was irrefutable proof that elected Democratic members of Congress gad assisted in an attempted coup, people would have been lined up against a wall and shot for treason by now. We know that. Why is justice not happening? I have no faith that it ever will.

4

u/financialfreeabroad Apr 09 '24

u/facforlife Apr 09 '24

But I thought Jan6 was an Antifa false flag????

These dumbfucks can't even lie properly.

6

u/IdislikeSpiders Apr 09 '24

But I thought that was the FBI and Antifa that did that?

I'm so confused. Were they "visiting the Capitol" or was it "nasty liberals"?

Can't keep their fucking story straight.

6

u/Admiral_Andovar Apr 09 '24

But, but, I thought that was all the FBI, ANTIFA, and BLM!

4

u/khill0005 Apr 09 '24

Don’t congressmen and women take oaths to follow and defend the constitution just like the president does when they are inaugurated? If so, she has broken her oath and therefore not eligible to be in that position. Neither is Trump eligible to be president. But hey I guess they are just words right? Oaths mean nothing, and the constitution is just a peace of paper in their minds. They are fucking traitors, and same with anyone who supports them.
