Guess what Republican "Good Women," they'll jail you and let you die of miscarriages, too. Wake the fuck up.

381

u/Felstorm1231 28d ago

All while flying their mistresses and rape victims to Europe for their procedures.

Republicans have no issue with abortion access- it just has to be accessible to rich, cishet white men and no one else.

144

u/letmehittheatm 28d ago

Get real. They'll have doctors stateside who do the procedures on the sly.

66

u/Felstorm1231 28d ago

So long as they keep laws like they have in Texas on the books, I think that’s too much risk for most docs.

If you can be reported anonymously by anyone for possibly playing a role in an “unlawful termination of pregnancy” it’s gonna be real hard to convince anyone with a traceable medical license to actually carry out the procedure.

Or even have the type of facility and staff in place to do so- which I think is part of the broader goal of curtailing reproductive healthcare across the board.

52

u/dragonfliesloveme 28d ago

You think Hitler’s doctor just kept a daily, public practice lol? What i mean is, they’ll have a doctor or however many doctors, who is experienced in abortions set up somewhere. The public will never know about it.

25

u/myaltduh 28d ago

If they can afford good cocaine, they can afford an abortion pill for their mistress.

7

u/madbeardycat 27d ago

Rule number one is never tell anyone you are pregnant . In my mothers day that was how it was done. Illegal doctor, no one talking about it, just having a few 'period issues'. There are always doctors who have been struck off. They still have the training and competent (hopefully). Watch out for your local ex doctor buying a new Ferrari.

And maybe your local corner drug dealer can add it to their repertoire. Meth, heroin, cocaine, abortion pills. If they can get millions of dollars worth of cocaine over the borders, they can get a few drugs women need over too.

3

u/dragonfliesloveme 27d ago

I think Mexico has some kind of abortion pill available over-the-counter, just did a quick google, I suppose it’s the same stuff that just got banned in Louisiana, but I’m not schooled on if there’s more than one kind of pill for that

14

u/Outside-Flamingo-240 28d ago

Yup … just need to travel to the nearest blue state for “vacation”

19

u/daddakamabb1 28d ago

Until they get your period tracker information and see when you skipped a month or two, and it coincides with out of state travel. Then they automatically subpoena you and you have to go to court like a traffic ticket that will include a physical examination of your body and blood work, but you know, for murder.

18

u/Outside-Flamingo-240 28d ago

That is a very plausible fear. And partially why I told my daughter to delete that shit off of her phone asap.

I don’t get them anymore so I’d be useless unless I get forced to be a Martha

3

u/Suggett123 28d ago

They'll buy an Aircraft Carrier, for a penny, to use as their offshore prison.

32

u/Dook124 28d ago

Europe??? Ummm, more like Beverly Hills, private rich doctors, and the secret Saturday same day, little procedures!!

They’ll just let their rape victims suffer. They don’t care. Republicans would probably laugh with their golf buddies about watching their latest victim die in the streets.

10

u/32lib 28d ago

Nah, they will go to California and come home to their garbage state and talk shit about California.

3

u/Shirogayne-at-WF 27d ago

Yep.

I'm so glad I saved this screenshot, it's golden and will become more and more evergreen as time goes on:

2

u/32lib 27d ago

About 2 years ago I was in a little Hispanic restaurant in the suburbs of Portland Oregon. 2 people in front of me were talking. Person 1 was a local, person 2 was from Los Angeles.

#1 I love this town we are pretty much integrated. #2 whatever, you look segregated to me. 1/2 the people in L.A. are in a mixed relationship. Now honestly,Portland is a really liberal city, but (most) of California is really good. P.S. I love it down there.

3

u/KC_experience 28d ago

They don’t even have to fly that far. They’ll just fly them to NY or Cali, where the unwashed librul masses can still get abortions. (Or Canada, or Mexico)

4

u/No-Resolution-6414 27d ago

Michigan is much closer. And it's (now) enshrined in our State constitution.

51

u/goldensunshine429 28d ago

Misoprostol can also be given to help deliver the placenta. I had it in the hospital when my placenta wouldn’t come on its own.

So glad idiots in Louisiana have decided that’s illegal.

28

u/On_my_last_spoon 28d ago

I believe I was given misoprostol in the hospital when I had a miscarriage for the same purpose. The fetus had come out but the placenta was still there. Without it, I would have still needed a D&C or gone into septic shock and could have died.

But sure, let’s make this illegal

19

u/goldensunshine429 28d ago

Basically same scenario for me. I delivered my (living)19w6d fetus so it was “a miscarriage.” If placenta hadn’t come out with a lot of manual manipulation work by the overnight resident, I would have needed the D&C.

Because women who’ve just gone through trauma of losing a pregnancy totally need to have MORE trauma; so says Louisiana republicans.

As the top level comment says, they’ll let us die on the alter of their “small government”

10

u/dogfooddippingsauce 28d ago

It's very scary.

6

u/RunningOnAir_ 27d ago

They're not idiots. They know it will kill women, but it's worth it to them. Actually, killing women is probably one of the goals

19

u/hipkat13 28d ago

It only matters to them when it affects them directly. It’s only about them and their totally unique experience. And even then they really don’t care about (or sympathize with) other women.

259

u/Miserable-Lizard 28d ago

They will do is nationwide if given chance.

36

u/Novel-Suggestion-515 28d ago

As will UCP.

55

u/Miserable-Lizard 28d ago

Vote ABC always. Anyone but conservaties

24

u/Edge_of_yesterday 28d ago

They will do that and far worse.

17

u/dismayhurta 28d ago

They won’t stop until they have their Christofascist Utopia which looks eerily similar to 30s Germany

97

u/Pootscootboogie69 28d ago

Don’t worry that preacher that raped you will only get 5 days and a new church to lurk on.

37

u/BlueNotesBlues 28d ago

Nah, that's too progressive. He'll pay your father 50 silver and take you as his wife.

198

u/Cyrix_FPU_FTW 28d ago

Women are going to stop having children en-masse out of fear of facing a miscarriage and BEING THROWN IN JAIL because of it - all due to these reprehensible misogynist psychopath christo-fascists (who think these kinds of unspeakably vile policies will promote more childbirths).

110

u/everythingbeeps 28d ago

And the GOP will just find a way to make not having kids illegal.

70

u/Moritasgus2 28d ago

They already have - ban birth control. That is next.

58

u/Hay_Fever_at_3_AM 28d ago

Ban birth control, ban no-fault divorce, and we know they don't think marital rape is rape.

32

u/dismayhurta 28d ago

Make it harder for women to go to college. Women can’t have their own bank accounts. Ya know. Like the “good ole days.”

36

u/Canalloni 28d ago

Their anti abortion stance is actually based on eugenics but they try to keep that part quiet.

-19

u/landgnome 28d ago

Dude what? Their stance is so anti-eugenics it’s stupid. Like for them. If you can’t terminate a pregnancy that’s going to produce a sub-par human, or one that will kill the person trying to conceive it…it’s not eugenics. Their plan is to have the stupid people have babies and vote for their stupid asses.

18

u/On_my_last_spoon 28d ago

History tells another story.

A government that tells you that you can’t have an abortion is one that can also tell you you must have one. Or force sterilization.

It was policy to sterilize women of color. Or women with disabilities. Or women in mental institutions. And these things were happening under Trump! Immigrant women in detention centers were sterilized without their permission or knowledge of what was being done to them.

This is absolutely eugenics.

-2

u/landgnome 28d ago edited 28d ago

Ok. For the record, I hate eugenics. But for this debate. I’m asking how MAKING people have babies is eugenics…wtf am I taking crazy pills?

Edit: you do realize why they don’t want abortion right? Poor people. No access to contraceptives. Person grows up poor. Person has no alternatives than to work. Person now works life in “cozy American sweatshop”. They want poor people shitting out babies to produce.

10

u/On_my_last_spoon 28d ago

First, they want more white babies for adoptions. Amy Coney Barrett said this during oral arguments. They want more white babies for infertile white families.

Second, it starts with more workers, but those people are disposable. Look at the repeal of child labor laws happening. It’s still eugenics when it’s creating a class of workers based on race.

But thing to remember most of all is that it starts with a ban on abortion. But the ban creates a medical precedent for controlling reproduction. They’re not going to campaign on forced sterilization. Abortion gets votes because “killing babies” pulls heart strings.

-4

u/landgnome 28d ago

First, it’s highly disingenuous to call this eugenics. This is something else altogether. Eugenics is altering the gene pool to exclude the less desirables. Not making everyone have babies unfettered. I’d truly enjoy a source on “white babies for adoption”. Since you’ve thrown a name I guess I will google it. Do you think I’m a fucking advocate of child labor law reduction?! Fuck you. You asses are downvoting an advocate. We all need to pull our heads out of our collective asses. And if if none of you can see past the literal fence in front of your faces…I don’t have much hope left.

5

u/Canalloni 28d ago

You are not getting it because you have not seen it explained by the racists when they think there are no libs around. They want to force white women in red states to have more babies to boost the white population. Everything they do is for that end. And Trump dog whistles it to them so they will vote for him. They think America will soon no longer be a "white" country = the end of America. So anti immigrant , anti refugee, anti abortion to force more white babies etc. It may be dumb, but that is what they believe, and why they love Trump because he " knows" , nudge, nudge, wink, wink, what they want and will give them as much as he can. What happens in the big cities, there they don't care as much, they can just eliminate the cities with their guns in the Civil War Rittenhouse style, hence AR15s needed, but in the more, mostly white, red areas? Remove books, put women back in the kitchen, no more abortion or feminist talk, have babies, no more contraception, go back to child brides, polygamy is fine, etc etc make America white again.

3

u/landgnome 28d ago

Dude. I feel like you’re trying to make me a believer. I’m not sure where our discourse got off track. You are wasting youre breath. I grew up in southern WHITE baptist church. I’m familiar with their bullshit. I was raised that way. But you know what dude. Some people see through the bullshit and make the world better. All of you have assumed some great bullshit about me tonight. And I hope you all choke on your grandiose beliefs…this world won’t be fixed by your high and mighty beliefs that it will be. Get the fuck out there and do something. The MAGA bullshit people are, and if we don’t do something they’re gonna rule. Want our nice lives to continue? Want the courts to rule in our favor? Want to be able to fucking retire? Vote Joe. Continue downvoting and go about your days, but you’ll regret only talking up to me

1

u/SummerDaemon 27d ago

Perhaps you should have just not spoken at all.

1

u/Canalloni 27d ago

I'm not trying to make you a believer. I was completely unaware of the eugenics aspect of the anti abortion crowd. A pro choice lawyer activist did a lengthy explanation on this, far better than mine onTwitter with specific examples and sources, and it was like a light went off. In my opinion only, the anti abortion crowd take their inspiration from nazi eugenics and they hide their real agenda behind pro life rhetoric. They dont actually care about life, they care about promoting a white supremacist agenda. It's different from the Nazis obviously, but at the root bottom, I believe that is their end goal but they don't openly admit it. For me, down votes are disagreement. We can agree to disagree on the "eugenics" aspect of it without it being personal. To call someone's point of view grandiose? I'm not really getting it. Telling those of us responding to you to get the " fuck out there and do something " , there's no point in discussing this further if that's how you take it. Have a great day.

u/dragonfliesloveme 28d ago

That’s why they will go after contraception next. Women cannot easily just stop having children with no contraception available to them

9

u/Outside-Flamingo-240 28d ago

I would love to see recent statistics on tubal ligations / vasectomies in certain states since this bullshit started.

14

u/elspotto 28d ago

The inverse of the coin from Handmaid’s Tale is the widespread dystopian trope of government sanctioned procreation, which is a thinly veiled reference to eugenics. Government renders everyone incapable of reproduction (some version it truly is everyone regardless of gender), a “lottery” happens and the approved male and female winners have the birth control removed and are paired up, not necessarily with a lifetime partner, to have a State mandated child.

Hell, it’s still being used. Was one of the main plot points in the first episode of Apple TV’s Silo.

9

u/malica83 28d ago

In their ideal world women wouldn't have a choice. End game is to successfully reduce us to incubators ala handmaid's tale.

6

u/bicyclecat 28d ago

A lot of women will still get pregnant, but they may put off or entirely avoid prenatal care so there isn’t an early record of their pregnancy.

118

u/Crutley 28d ago

Any woman that doesn't vote against Trump (or vote at all) in November is a disgrace to her gender.

59

u/cardizemdealer 28d ago

Any person who doesn't vote against him is a disgrace to humanity

-25

u/tyranicalTbagger 28d ago

But this is happening under Biden and all dems are doing to fight it is…..nothing? Fundraise and scare us by saying it will happen under trump. Oh no my hands are tied there is nothing we can doooooo. Well then there is nothing I can do for them.

22

u/blisa00 28d ago

What do you expect Biden and his administration to do at this point? The SCOTUS is already bought and paid for. Congress has a GOP majority. They can only raise the issue at this point and warn us.

-21

u/tyranicalTbagger 28d ago

Put everyone in LA under a national spotlight. Be on every network naming and shaming with short concise messaging that will name and shame. Apply public pressure. Cash in their political capital to do literally anything. Warn? lol how dumb do you think the are. They don’t want to do shit other than fundraise, line their pockets and fear monger. All the while you clutch your pearls and defend them for free online. Clown shit.

53

u/vivaelteclado 28d ago

Not just gonna be Louisiana, coming to every red state near you

29

u/dragonfliesloveme 28d ago

It’s going national if a Republican takes the White House. Executive order.

60

u/ResurgentClusterfuck 28d ago

Want to emphasize this:

Many people who are seeking early abortion care do so online, from telemedicine providers. Making this drug a controlled substance will hinder this because some providers cannot prescribe controlled substances across state lines, or they're mid-level providers and cannot prescribe controls at all

This is an assault on a person's ability to seek early abortion care in the state of Louisiana

38

u/TequieroVerde 28d ago

This reminds me of that meme a couple weeks ago. The one where women would rather be with a bear in the woods than with a man. Conservative women are okay with taking reproductive rights away from you, and conservative men are bears only in the power bottom sense.

72

u/Smart-Stupid666 28d ago

This is why they are so obsessed over states rights, so they can drag people kicking and screaming back to the 13th century. F these people.

32

u/TheSarcasticSith 28d ago

lmao misoprostol was used to induce me into labor guess Louisiana doesn’t allow that now

26

u/meatballbubbles 28d ago

It was also given to me when I had a missed miscarriage in a very wanted pregnancy. Guess we are supposed to just die of sepsis instead.

11

u/On_my_last_spoon 28d ago

Same here! Guess I should have died then too!

9

u/phlfrdm 28d ago

Same… to SAFELY get my very much wanted baby out without harming them or myself

23

u/Mysterious-Wasabi103 28d ago

Watch as Republicans who helped for this type of policy slowly leave the state over the next decade as it grows more and more unbearable to live there. These lawmakers live in an alternate reality if they think a majority of Americans are on board for half the stupid shit they think is a good idea.

24

u/SuperdudeKev 28d ago

The entirety of Project 2025 is terrifying. They want to:

Institute a national abortion ban, reverse FDA approval of abortion pills, demand data from states that currently allow abortion, and restrict our access to STD testing, birth control, and IVF.

End public education by eliminating the Department of Education and by diverting public money to private and religious school attendance.

Assume that America is Christian and that Christian beliefs should hold a privileged place in society, starting with enforcing a “biblically based” (heterosexual and two-parent) definition of marriage and family.

Reduce or eliminate the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and end programs that address climate change.

Allow the mass deportation of immigrants, suspend applications for immigration, and reduce protections for immigrants seeking asylum.

Make it easier to fire government employees. The people behind this are already creating a hiring database of 20,000+ Trump loyalists to pack all levels of the federal government with people who will not check his power. They’re also creating a training academy for them.

Threaten our national security by gutting the Department of Homeland Security, ending the FBI’s efforts to combat disinformation, and reducing the military’s efforts to counter domestic extremism. And so much more.

The thing about the government employees is that they want the ability to stack it with people who think the 2020 election was rigged, and they want trump himself to have the ability to fire any government employee for not supporting his narrative.

38

u/AgentDaxis 28d ago

Republicans will not stop until they’ve stripped us of ALL our rights & freedoms.

22

u/dragonfliesloveme 28d ago

And money. Don’t forget the money. They want us sick and poor and there will be a huge wealth transfer, much bigger than the one that happened when trump was president

3

u/muchasveces82 28d ago

Then one day their stupid base might realize after all their rights are gone. That they never gave a fuck about them and only care about their wealthy donors.

15

u/HeavyTea 28d ago

Can people still be planning to vote for this fucking guy? I would not want him running a gas station or lemonade stand.

10

u/Greener_Falcon 28d ago

I wouldn't want him as a boss, a coworker, or even a customer.

I wouldn't want him around my kids, my parents, my wife, or even my pet.

People who have worked closely with him describe him as the dumbest person they've ever met. Former teachers describe him as dumb, overconfident, and a bully.

It's scary to think he is the republican front runner for the highest office in the United States.

14

u/Clever_Mercury 28d ago

Don't worry, wealthy families can still fly to other boutique locations and go to health "spas" and access whatever medical procedures they want, whenever they want. It'll only be the 'poors' who will be scrutinized, or sentenced.

We're about to go right down the path again. It'll be selectively enforced in order to give liberals, 'troublesome' women, or POC criminal records. That's it.

11

u/Theratsmacker2 28d ago

Why is Louisiana trying so hard to be the worst state in the nation? It’s hard to be proud of it when legislators make the worst damn decisions possible.

3

u/jenjenjen731 28d ago

Just wait, I'm sure Texas and Florida are doing their best to catch up.

4

u/On_my_last_spoon 28d ago

They’re lost.

4

u/zxylady 28d ago

Hopefully they're lost never to be found, least of all at a voting booth

21

u/RW-One 28d ago

Of course the orange turd does that, then if it goes his way it's because of him, if not then its the states fault, not his.

Fucking (Not) Useful idiot.

Vote this Nov. Blue Wave.

8

u/Smart-Stupid666 28d ago

I'm pessimistic. I'm really not going to get excited over it because I'm powerless and I don't need the ulcer. I live in Tennessee and I vote but my vote gets thrown away.

10

I am not proud of my state.

Is there any chance I (cisgender gay male) could legally obtain this drug and mail it to anyone in Louisiana who needs it for free?

4

u/jenjenjen731 28d ago

No idea if you can, but you're a nice person for asking!!

6

u/VenustoCaligo 28d ago

I'll have to see what I can do. I am really tired of seeing news like this and feeling like I can't do anything to help- besides voting of course.

Vote. Those. Fuckers. Out.

4

u/aerial_ruin 27d ago edited 27d ago

I heard about that one Texas republican who didn't realise the severity of the issue of these ridiculous bans, till his wife said, during a miscarriage, "get this fucking dead baby out of me".

Sociopaths don't realise the severity of an issue till it affects them directly. Wonder how many more women directly attached to republican dickwads have to go through with this, till they realise "ok, so maybe this isn't the good idea we imagined it to be

Edit; it was a radio host, and the wording was a bit different. But reading the article shows a lot of disgusting shit, both in hospital negligence and the complete lack of care taken during making these Draconian laws

Please don't read if you are sensitive to birth trauma/miscarriage. If you do though, feel free to share it at every single republican politician, at every level of government, that you know

Here's the skinny, young ladies. Now they can rape you, force you to have the babe and then sue for visitation. Much like the middle east they can now pick out a wife. You won't be married but they are part of your life for 20 years now. Oh and if they are bum and you make something of yourself you can pay them some type of support. Thats's ongoing. They can always go back to court for that.

6

Waiting for Louisiana to make being a woman a crime from birth and are required to live their lives in maximum security facilities, under the constant watch of males.

4

u/No_Sprinkles418 28d ago

My daughter just had a baby. She was overdue and the doctors used this drug to soften her cervix and induce labor. I’m so glad she lives in a solid blue dem state and could get the proper, best-practices treatment recommended by her medical team.

Christian nationalist conservatives can rot in hell.🔥

3

u/RaptorJesusLOL 28d ago

But how will republican politicians take care of their underage mistresses pregnancies now?

3

u/Njabachi 28d ago

It's moments like these that I wonder how fundamentally broken you'd have to be to support these people.

2

I’m not sure what the criticism of Bernie’s post is? You may agree with what southern states have been doing but it doesn’t take away from the similarities between handmaids tail and the real situation. You may love living in that universe and that’s your right… but what Bernie said isn’t wrong.

It's absolutely sad that people actually think, that by putting abortion in the state is small government, when ot was with, for, and about the persons individual rights, somehow is big government.

I swear conservatives make me think they really are dumb as rocks when they claim it being small government, not realizing that it's not small government when the government has a say. And they come across as being like a five year old in the mentality they come across as having, being that it's small government because it's the state and not federal government,

i.e. state is smaller than the county therefore, it's small government and not big government.

That's how they come across whenever they argue about it.

Whats behind all of this is the bible. The evangelicals really think they're pleasing God by banning abortion not realizing God ordered the abortion of a cheating wife, Numbers 5:11 NIV translation. They claim to know the bible, they've honestly never actually read it

Republicans want white babies by any means necessary.

Like his response to Covid, Trump doesn’t want to be held accountable for making a decision on the national level. Abortion restrictions have become unpopular with a giant majority of voters, some of them republicans, so he uses this answer to avoid saying yes or no. He’ll lose some support no matter if he answers yes or no.

Honestly, I think using the Kang and Kodos idea would have worked better.

But Biden is President right now and this is happening… I understand Trump is demonstrably worse but this title seems completely disconnected from reality….

The implication is that Biden would veto an attempt at a national ban, and would sign any bill enshrining reproductive rights, and Trump would do the opposite.
